That’s all that I am

I’m not who I was forced to be

Trained to be, educated to be, systemically molded to be.

I’m not what my childhood caused me to be, or colonized, religionized, or traumatized me to be.

I’m not my jobs, my bank account, my resume or whatever capitalism thinks I should be.

Whether or not I’m productive or instructive or conductive.

I’m not just my body or my persona or the color of my skin or any of the myriad ways this lifetime tried to shape me, make me, harm me, or threaten me into being.

I am me, just me, a gentle loving and fierce being. What is inside of me, what is in my heart, my deepest sacred spirit? That’s me. That’s all me.  That’s all I can be, all I need or want to be. That’s all me. That’s all I am.

I am.
